Pass Plus

Weekly Lessons
Learning to drive, using the LD system, can be spread over several weeks and lessons can be booked individually or in a block at a discount.

Lessons are usually 60 minutes long. Unlike in the courses described below, the LD driving skills DVDs and workbook are not included in the price but can be purchased separately. The DVDs can be rented or purchased for a nominal fee directly from your local LDC instructor.

Semi-Intensive Pass Course
The Semi-Intensive Pass Course is spread over two or more weeks to suit you and your instructor’s schedule. This is the most popular and successful form of intensive training. It is designed for people who want to pass the test quickly but at a comfortable pace.

The in-car training provided is 30 hours on a pupil to one instructor basis (this includes 2 hours for attending the driving test). When you add the home study, using the LD driving skills DVDs and workbook, the total duration of this course is around 40 hours.

One Week Pass Course
The One Week Pass Course is identical in content to the Semi-Intensive course except that it would usually start on Sunday or Monday and finish on Friday. It is ideal for those who are in a hurry and who could not otherwise find the time. You would need to book the course and pass the theory test well in advance of the required start date.

Midway Pass Course
For those who have already learned the basic control skills of driving we have the Midway Pass Course.

The in-car training provided is 20 hours on a one pupil to one instructor basis (this includes 2 hours for attending the driving test). When you add the home study, using the LD driving skills DVDs and workbook, the total duration of this course is around 28 hours.

Test Booster Course
For those who are nearing the test standard and who just need a short burst of lessons prior to the test, we have the Test Booster Course. It is also ideal for those who have had an attempt at the test some time ago but haven’t had any lessons since. The in-car training is 15 hours on a one pupil to one instructor basis (this includes 2 hours for attending the driving test). When you add the home study, using the LD driving skills DVDs and workbook, the total duration of the course is around 20 hours.

Pass Plus

Great! You've passed your driving test and can't wait to get your first car. You want the kind of independence that only comes with having your own set of wheels. But the cost of insurance is sky high...

So how do you get what you want, and pay a lower premium? The answer is Pass Plus - backed by insurance companies, Central Government and the Driving Standards Agency. The Pass Plus scheme is designed to make you a better driver and so help you avoid being part of a gruesome statistic.

It involves lessons in the form of six specially designed driver training modules which cover driving in town, out of town, in all weathers, at night, on dual carriageways and on motorways. And there is no test to take at the end of it.
